  1. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) cannot stop retreating on all the frontlines, while Ukrainian propaganda and the MSM are trying their best to assure the public that there are no strategic threats for Ukraine and Kiev is winning the war. The fortress of Ugledar is already in operational encirclement. The last roads to the town were cut by advancing Russian troops. Russians are already advancing on the streets. In an attempt to calm down the population, Ukrainian media turned to their favorite tactics. They report, citing the Institute for the study of war, that Ugledar is not an important logistics hub. This is how the fortress turns into a useless settlement. Ukrainian forces (UF) blockaded in Ugledar requested evacuation, but the safe extraction is no longer possible. The last road came under Russian fire control and Russian forces (RF) are remotely mining all the escape routes through the fields. At the same time, a Russian bridgehead is growing west of Ugledar on the northern bank of the local Kashlagach river.

The strategic crisis of Ukrainian defense is deepening in the Pokrovsk direction. On the southern flank, the Russian army (RA) is rapidly expanding its zone of control around the liberated Ukrainsk, grinding UF down in a cauldron west of Nevelskoe. RF are surrounding Selidovo, while battles are approaching Mirnograd. These are two main Ukrainian strongholds aimed to slow down the Russian offensive on Pokrovsk.

New frontlines start moving in the Donbass. The RA advanced in the Krasny Liman direction, repelling the Ukrainian military from the last settlements in the Luhansk People’s Republic. RF launch offensive operations on a wide front along the Svatovo-Kremennaya road. Soon after Makeevka was liberated, the village of Nevskoe came under Russian control. RF also completed the mop up operation and captured an important stronghold of the Zhuravka ravine, which is up to 10 km long and stretches southeast of the village. The ravine turned into a bloody battlefield where heavy battles continued for months.

The Russian advance allows the destruction of the Ukrainian bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Zherebets river. The Armed Forces are still holding defense to the south in the Terny-Torskoe line, but RF have already increased their pressure in the area and are expanding their zone control around the settlements. Ukrainian defense in the area is complicated by the terrain and necessity to transfer forces across the river under Russian fire.

Grinded in the Russian Kursk region and retreating on the Donbass frontlines, the AFU attempted counterattacks in the Kharkiv border areas, where Russian offensive was suspended. According to front reports, UF took back control of the ruins of the aggregate plant located on the Russian bank in Volchansk.

On September 24, the AFU celebrated another great victory. Servicemen of the Main Intelligence Governorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine entered the territory of the aggregate plant after it was abandoned by RF. The plant located on the eastern bank of the Volchya river came under Russian control during Russian offensive operations in Volchansk and other settlements in the Kharkiv region months ago.

Yesterday, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense proudly shared the footage of Ukrainian special forces celebrating control of the industrial facility on the Russian eastern bank of the river. Their joy did not last long.

The withdrawal of RF from the ruins of the aggregate plant turned out to be a trap. As soon as UF entered the facility and filmed footage for their media victory, the plant was pounded by Russian heavy bombs and multiple rocket launchers with thermobaric warheads.

During Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, the aggregate plant was an important stronghold that supported Russian attacks in the center of the town on the eastern bank of the Volchya river. After the intensity of Russian attacks decreased and offensive on a wide front was suspended, RF were holding control along the riverbank. The town of Volchansk, including the aggregate plant, was ruined and military supplies were complicated. These were likely the reasons why the Russian military withdrew forces from the plant and offered Ukrainians another media victory together with heavy losses from Russian heavy strikes.

The town of Volchansk is still inflamed by positional battles in the ruins that result in heavy losses on both sides. However, the frontlines do not change much there and bring no strategic victories.

The AFU launch local offensive operations in different areas in the Kharkiv region in an attempt to contain RF and achieve at least any victories to declare in the media amid their strategic defeats in all other directions.

UF continue attacks by small, mechanized assault groups in Glubokoe. Some of them managed to break through Russian defense and reach the center of the settlement. In response, RF launched counterattack on the northwestern flank and captured several Ukrainian positions. As a result, Ukrainian assault groups failed to gain a foothold in Glubokoe.

Southwest of Volchansk, the AFU are trying to repel RF from their stronghold on the western bank of the river near Staritsa. UF slightly advanced near the village and gained several strongholds in the area in the recent days.

Advancing in one area, UF retreat from another. The RA advanced east of Volchansk and took control of the northwestern outskirts of Tikhoe. Most of the ruined village remains in the grey zone. Clashes are also ongoing on the eastern outskirts of Tikhoe, threatening the Ukrainian garrison with partial encirclement.

Being defeated on almost all battlefields, the AFU is striven for any gains. Their ongoing attacks are yet to bring them the military initiative in the Kharkiv region.

  2. Love this guy. And the US welcomes Finland. Yes they fought Russia back on their own. They have a very strong military trained in fighting in the cold territory of the border with Russia. They are awesome edition and very welcome in NATO.

  3. It stands to reason one must be prepared to go to war in a moments notice once an order like that is authorized. Perhaps we are designing the moment to enter. That rhetoric is obscene to the Ukrainian and rightly so given their perspectives however the prospect of WWIII more or less (which is simmering with potential right now) is to not be underestimated. The Union will be fortified through this inferno ultimately. Donald Trump is showing us who we are. We should be cognizant of his role and its necessity to grow/evolve dispassionately to see clearly further.
