I’m sorry to break to you but the chap in the photo is that most infamous of scoundrels, a Frenchman.
I know we’re much associated with pith hats, colonialism, and treating natives like livestock, but we we’re never able to obtain a complete monopoly.
This is why we Brexited, so we could get back to running Empire.
I hope it was just for the photo.
