  1. I think Ukraine will survive any outcome of the US election.

A victory for Putin’s puppet would certainly hurt military aid, particularly affecting offensive operations, but this hasn’t been a war where offensive operations have been decisive. It, alas, may simply be a war decided by endurance.

Ukraine has developed first in world capabilities, in small aerial and naval drone warfare and cost effective cruise missiles. Russia is running out of Cold War stocks of military machinery. The US has contributed less than half of the total aid to Ukraine. And there are many Americans who have donated to Ukraine’s defense and will only increase donations in the case the puppet wins.

It will be hard for Ukraine, but not impossible.

I worry more for the US position on the global stage. Trump abandoned allies in the Kurds, and promises to abandon Ukraine. What other ally is safe? The EU is an economic powerhouse that could easily defend itself against Russian aggression, without the Trans-Atlantic alliance. It simply needs to sweep aside bureaucratic cobwebs in military procurement. Another Trump electoral victory may be the catalyst for the EU to treat the US as an unreliable ally.

  2. Its amazing to think political voyeur Sen. Jospeph McCarthy was correct. His own party since July 4th 2018 have sold out the US and basically does Putin’s bidding! Our founding fathers would be appalled!

  3. I know it’s an old Soviet trope, but the Putin shills (including Frump) have really been pushing the narrative lately: Russia can fight forever, resistance is futile, nothing you can do, negotiate to lose now or lose worse later. Save lives by losing now. And a million other determinist variations.
I don’t buy it. And I’ll donate and advocate for increased support as long as Ukraine fights.

  4. No surprise. Trump’s take was always to try and force concessions on ukraine’s part – it was the only realistic diplomatic end for russia.
