One of the things I appreciate the most about our current team is how local it is: Of the 23 players used so far by Flick, 18 have been Spanish. Almost half of the 23 players – 11 in total – were born within 100 kilometers of Camp Nou.
In terms of players born within 100 kilometers of their respective stadium, I can say for reference that Real Madrid have used one player so far this season (Dani Carvajal) and Atlético Madrid have used four players so far this season (Koke, Marcos Llorente, Pablo Barrios, Rodrigo Riquelme).
Just for reference, it’s really hard to find a big European club that have used local nationals – i.e. Spanish players in Spain, English players in England, etc. – to a higher degree than us this season. Athletic Club, which is a special case, might just be about the only one beating us:

Yeah that really improves the chemistry of the team. A couple of years back we only had Pique, Busquets en Alba who were Spanish.
