Russia’s war dead tops 70,000 as volunteers face ‘meat grinder’ | BBC News

More than 70,000 people fighting in Russia’s military have now died in Ukraine, according to data analysed by the BBC.

For the first time, volunteers – civilians who joined the armed forces after the start of the war – now make up the highest number of people killed on the battlefield since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.

BBC Russian and the independent website Mediazona have collated and identified these names.

  1. These numbers don't mean much, the real numbers are much higher. Lets recall all the Russian Z-ombie circus when Ukraine claimed to hit their flagship "Moscow":

    "No, Ukraine doesn't have such capability"

    "No, Ukrainian attack was successfully repelled: no damage"

    "No, There is only a little smoke"

    "No, Moscow is going to port for a paint job"

    "No, Moscow is being towed to port due to a mechanical issue"

    "Ok, Moscow sunk due to big waves, 1 sailor died"

    LOL

  2. I keep hearing 500, 000 Dead Russians. I saw a report about the "body collectors" who try to identify the dead on both sides. So many Russians already skeletons with some having no "dog tags" to identify them. Only their uniforms and equipment to identify friend from foe. Why this huge discrepancy in number?. The Russians are still using WW2 tactics with poorly trained troops and equipment.

  3. 70k is probably the number of new graves in Russia. From the daily videos we see there is 20-30 every day and of course whats being videoed is only a small part of whats going on, also there is tens of thousands of bodies not being collected, many cannot be collected unless you want to play puzzles while being pewpewd at. True number is probably 200k-400k.

  4. Information about Russia's economy!
    Trade between Russia and the EU grows for the first time since November 2023
    Russia's exports increased by 21%, to €3 billion (more than R$18.3 billion), while those from the EU grew by 24.5%, to €3.03 billion (almost R$18.6 billion).
    Among the main trading partners, the biggest growth in July was recorded with:
    1.Finland, with a 3.1-fold increase to €226 million (around R$1.3 billion);
    2.Croatia, with a 2.7-fold increase to €58 million (around R$355.1 million);
    3.Romania, with an increase of 2.6 times to €41 million (around R$251 million).
    However, trade almost doubled with Sweden (around R$848 million), the Czech Republic (approximately R$1.4 billion), Ireland (almost R$490.5 million) and Spain (more than R$ 2.2 billion).
