Putin is “planning attacks” on Ukraine’s nuclear power plants, Zelenskyy warns UN

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered remarks to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Wednesday and warned about Russia attacking its nuclear power plants.

“In the peace formula, the first point I presented is about nuclear safety. In Ukraine, we know what we are exactly dealing with. And I want to thank you — the general assembly members — for adopting a resolution in July this year on the safety of nuclear facilities in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy stated.

“Now, Putin does seem to be planning attacks on our nuclear power plants and their infrastructure, aiming to disconnect the plants from the power grid. With the help of satellites… satellites of other countries, Russia is getting images and detailed information about the infrastructure of our nuclear power plants. But what does this really threaten? Any missile or drone strike, any critical incident in the energy system, could lead to a nuclear disaster. A day like that must never come,” Zelenskyy warned.

  8. In 1994, the Budapest Agreement was signed, according to which Ukraine, at the insistence of the West, renouned nuclear weapons and heavy bombers. And the West, represented by the United States and Great Britain, acted as the guarantor of its territorial integrity, promised support in the event of an attack on Ukraine. Refusal of nuclear weapons   left Ukraine vulnerable against Russian aggression.

    In 2014, Russia annexed the Ukrainian Crimea and part of Donbass, and in 2022 it is attacking Ukraine, bombing its cities and villages,  killing Ukrainians.

    And now the USA does not want to give Ukraine enough necessary weapons, although basically these weapons are not new, they are being replaced with more modern ones.

  13. Their's four small Ukraine regions that in 2022 freely voted with a huge majority to join Russia but Zelensky won't let them join Russia. Simply allow those four small regions to join Russia and keep NATO off of the Ukraine/Russia border then Vladimir Putin for his part would be willing stop that Ukraine/Russia war. The Joe Biden administration is using Zelensky and the Ukraine to fight their war against Vladimir Putin also the west has already given Zelensky too much money and military equipment instead now force Zelensky to make peace with Vladimir Putin.

    Open the Constitution of Ukraine, the Presidential and Parliamentary elections after February 22, 2014, held in circumvention of the Constitution of Ukraine (Articles 71, 92, paragraph 20), in circumvention of the Law “On the Election of the President of Ukraine”, and the Law “On the Election of People's Deputies of Ukraine”. Elections after February 22, 2014 were held illegally and unconstitutionally, without ensuring the electoral process in the Donetsk, Lugansk regions and Crimea.

    VICTORY is to adopt a new Constitution with new real borders, and the horrors of the war will end.

  35. Zaporozhye Power plant is in Russian hands so it’s Ukrops who shell it. They had the same goal for Kursk nuclear plant but it didn’t work out. Zelensky has the same future as all the US puppets like Michael Saakachvili and Ngo Dinh Diem.
