This is when the season really begins, Leverkusen will be the first big opponent, and then it’s Aston Villa, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Barcelona. I think this is when we will see the depth of Kompany’s tactics.
Given Leverkusen’s recent defensive issues and Bayern’s attacking style I wouldn’t be surprised if Bayern wins it 4-3 or something like that, same with Barcelona.
4:0 no mercy
I’ve been hesitant to say Bayern is “back”, despite the score lines, because they’ve not played any opposition that’s actually on their level. And even still, the frailties at the back have still shown through. But if Bayern can win this, despite the defensive weakness, I think it’s safe to bet on Kompany as a great manager.
