  1. Democracy is exactly what you don’t want when dealing with climate change. Climate change is caused by actions that have delayed, compounding or permanent consequences. This means that the prejudicial effects of climate change might not be felt by those committing the action, but rather people living in a future. Which means that they might not care about the consequences.

    Deteriorating the environment to the point of causing severe prejudice to future people is simply illegal. The majority has to follow the law in a coherent way.

    So, we can’t trust people, we have to trust the rules that we apply indiscriminately.
