If you drive into England or Wales the signs are always quite modest; almost apologetic. I love when you drive into Scotland how the signs are massive. Like “You have now entered FUCKING SCOTLAND!!!”
The grass does look greener on the other side, though…

Longer grass, better for wildlife.
TBF you get this at county borders too. You often get an abrupt change in the quality of the road surface as well.
