Hey, so there are these scammers, or so-called "volunteers", in my country who spread fake news and always ask for 10 euros.
Recently, some dude contacted me and tried to convince me to go to church, which is also a "come unto Jesus" one, saying it was free. I'm not sure about it, but has anyone had any experience with this?

  1. If they don’t ask for money or ass, then where is the scam?

Just beware that the “GOD” of the bible is actually Satan.

  2. Well, any religion is based on something that can’t be proven true, so they’re all scams, basically.

  3. Religion is a scam so yes its scam. Most likely in this one they start asking for money sooner or later.

  4. If you plan on going, you should first ask them what church they’re representing (most likely LDS)

  5. it is a part of the LDS group.

if you like Mormonism, then this is what you’re looking for.

if you… don’t want to have an afterlife where you’re God of your own planet and get to see if you can do it better than the original… perhaps its better to pass 😉

  6. Are you asking if they’re a scam because they’re a cult, or pretending to be a cult and thus a scam?

It’s definitely one of them, and I’d guess the former.

  7. Depends on if you think Mormonism is a scam or not. Their game nights are reasonably fun and I attended a couple of them for a few months before I made friends with co workers and other people with similar interests. They did get a bit preachy towards the end, when I stopped going

  8. They are just trying to convert as many people as possible. Their “free” classes will definitely come with strings attached and they are also very good at preying on people. I would not go if I were you.
