  1. Errr, Flahavans is from ROI.

I literally just drove past the Flahavans oat factory in Ireland about 5 minutes ago. Beautiful part of the world if you ever get a chance to visit.

  2. I prefer real stone milled oats, I actually visit a local windmill for mine who still mill using a stone that’s wind powered, honestly is amazing, I don’t have it most of the year so I don’t mind paying the extra, also helps to preserve a bit of history

  3. Why is it porage??? Isn’t it porridge? Is this a regional thing?
I love oats but am immensely intolerant to them.☹️

  4. Scots porridge oats are delicious. I used to have a bowl of it before school in winter and autumn. My mum made it so delicious. Unfortunately due to IBS I can’t eat much oats anymore.

  5. I always get the cheap Sainsburys bag.
I find a lot of the more pricier stuff turns smoother, whereas I prefer it chewier/meatier.
    Horse feed, let’s go

  6. I actually didn’t know Flahavan’s was available in GB. I thought only us on the island of Ireland got to enjoy it.

  7. Whole oat groats.

Pressure cook with water for 30 mins, 1 knuckle above the oats.

Finish with Milk and a little salt.

  8. Opportunity to say how The Hound from Game of Thrones once was the face of Scott’s Porage Oats.

  9. 3kg of the jumbo on Amazon, ordered once every two months, with 15% off due to the subscription.

Thing is, it’s not the most important part. That would be the banana that you chop the night before and then freeze in your porridge bowl. When you pour your hot podge over the frozen, sliced banana it melts deliciously.

Add crunchy peanut butter (Pip and Nut) and/or toasted (if you can be arsed) almonds for texture. An ungodly amount of cinnamon and maple syrup also work well.
