  11. There are two main reasons why Putin will never use neclear weapons in Ukraine:

    1.) The russian arsenal is outdated. Can he really be sure that the missile will function as it is supposed to be? What if the missile bounces around? Or if it explodes on the lauch pad as the last one did? Then he would never be able to threaten anybody with nuclear weapons again.

    2.) A lot of other counties – including China importantly – have told Putin not to use nuclear weapons. China´s economy is much more tied to the U.S. and to Europe than it is to Russia (2%). China is a life line for Russia. If China were to say „we are cutting off this friendship“ then Russia will be completely destroyed. And that would be worse than anything else for Putin.

    Russia has no capacity to wage warfare against a major country.
    But nuclear saber ratteling works best for Putin. That´s why he does it.
