Am I missing something? how is this data beautiful? It is a just a top & bottom 10 list.
after looking briefly at the data, I feel like I need a professional statistician to break down what they’re really ranking here.
This is pro-capitalist fluff and nothing to do with beautiful data. You’re just listing countries which import raw materials for manufacturer vs the exporters of those materials.
Am I crazy, or if you’re going to make separate columns for most and least complex, then you should order the least complex column from lesser to greater. No?
Something not right in the data. USA should be at the top.
There is no data here, it’s just a subjective, qualitative ranking. You need to describe the formula you’re using to derive this quantity of “economic complexity”.
I’m not an economist, but here are some things I think you could discuss instead, which are quantitative and objective:
* Manufacturing sector size
* Economic diversity (using a formula about the relative sizes of industries in the country)
* Tech hubs (like Silicon Valley, Bengaluru, Tel Aviv) & the relative size of their contribution to their nation’s economy
Not beautiful. It’s just a list and it’s missing 113 points. Might as well screenshot Excel.
OP is clearly trying to drive traffic to his website. Or, you could read the Wikipedia article on the economic complexity index which has a complete list of countries: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_Complexity_Index](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_Complexity_Index)
