16. There should have been peace long before this. Now there is no talk of peace aside from unrealistic maximalist agendas. As far as I can tell, Russia is going to keep going up until the Dniper (at minimum) or until Ukraine surrenders. And Ukraine until they get their land back or NATO.

    Ukraine wants NATO which is a conventional red line for Russia.
    Ukraine still wants Crimea which is a nuclear red line for Russia
    Ukraine wants reparations from Russia (which is possible)
    Ukraine wants criminal trials for Russian leadership, which is a non-starter for the russian regime
    Ukraine wants Russian demilitarization, a non-starter

    Russia wants no NATO which is a red line for the current Ukrainian regime
    Russia wants annexation of Donbas, Zhaphorizhzhia, and all of Kherson a non-starter
    Russia now wants a buffer area for medium range missiles to put Moscow out of range, either demilitarization or annexation of pretty much everything east of Dniper
    Russia is now actively considering full conquest of Ukraine (this is a recent development that is not a demand but hurts peace negotiation)

24. Today the people of Europe have a very good reason to be worried and concerned. When a country targets and kills innocent civilians with rockets missiles and artillery. Like Russia is still doing in Ukraine. And those 53 civilians killed while attending a memorial service. In the Kharkiv region and village of Hroza on October 11th 2023 comes to mind. Should Ukraine lose the war and Russia decides that it wants more territory than just Ukraine. Then other European countries should expect the same treatment from Russia with their own civilian population. No doubt other European Nato countries are aware of this fact too. And they will do everything they can to give aid and to help support the people of Ukraine. Obviously for Europe's own safety and future too not just Ukraine.
