UK kindly and graciously gives Chagos islands to Mauritius without even the slightest hint of massive international pressure or arguably a long history of colonial abuse. Nothing but kindness here, honestly.

  1. Fucking embarrassing. The Rock Collection is our shared heritage, it isn’t Free Gear Keir’s to give away

  2. Mauritius got some dirt on you, dont they, Barry?

  3. It’s probably flooded anyway in 20 years or so and Barry doesn’t want to be responsible for it

  4. 🥁🥁🥁🎺 And now there is a gap of 3 hours where the sun doesn’t shine on a English possession 🎺🥁🥁🥁

🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵 France is the sole remaining country where the sun never sets 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵

  5. Guess it will be down under in a couple of years and Barry doesnt want to take care of the hazardous stuff around that airfield.

  6. The problem here is that there’s now a precedent of giving territories to other countries against the express wish of the people living there.

There’s very little difference between giving Chagos Islands to Mauritius and giving the Falklands to Argentina.

  7. British are willing to change maldives for a football trophy

  8. They are even so nice to keep a military base there to assure the safety of the islands.

  9. The worst news is that this will literally lead to the first time the sun sets on ~~the British Empire~~British territory since the 18th century.

It was a nice run, boys.

  10. What the fuck?! Who let that Tory bastard give away the IOT

  11. Oh no! Where will the American B2s refuel now? :(((((((((((

  12. Genuinely surprised we didn’t make it a tax haven instead. Wasted opportunity.

  13. Mauritius took their rock back before Spain could take theirs, and they did it after only 50 years as opposed to 300.

  14. Gives stuff away without pressure

    Keeps stuff with pressure

    Perfidious

  15. We keep it, everyone moans. We give it back, everyone moans.
If you ask me, if everyone moans no matter what we do anyway, we should keep it.
Or else, shut the fuck up.

  16. It doesn’t seem like we received anything in return.

Can we just give up sovereignty to a few of the politicians’ houses, the politicians that want this sort of thing, and see how they like it? Would be great if we could just deny them a visa to leave their house.
