  1. Good. Maybe they could use the big screens to display useful information, such as whether trains will leave on time and from which platform?

Also, maybe I’m just being cynical, but it’s funny that things have started to improve after politicians and national journalists had to actually use the station to get to Liverpool and Birmingham for the party conferences.

  2. If you’d never seen a train station before, you’d take one look at Euston and go… “why isn’t the timetable up there on that big screen?”

  3. Remove some of the many shops inside the station and create more space for passengers to sit.
The enormous space where the ticket machines are stationed could be repurposed too.
There are numerous shops and restaurants outside and too many taking up space inside.

  4. Some of the trains are only available a few minutes before departure. Accept people getting on whilst cleaning is still taking place or employ more cleaners, you could have people on trains instead of the platform.

Kings Cross seems to let people on trains earlier.

  5. I was living overseas most of the time whilst Euston was getting refurbished. When I got back and saw that screen, and realised it wasn’t a departure board but that they were using it ONLY for adverts, I literally gasped

  6. What we need is a committee to do as systematic review, including all steakholders. I’m sure if we put our minds together we can figure out what information will be most useful to the passengers in this station.

Expect lessons learned in 12 – 48 months.
