Besides being good for NATO and good for Ukraine, this would eliminate one of the Russians’ possible motives for perpetuating the war.
If they’re only hanging on to the conflict for the sake of keeping Ukraine out of NATO, and it doesn’t actually keep Ukraine out of NATO, then maybe they’ll call it quits.
