Genuinely? Probably not, a couple of big lads could probably lift it up no problem.
But *legally*? Absolutely, probably had to fill out 5 different forms just to get *permission* to use the ramp.
Well you wouldn’t want to carry if for a few miles.
How would you do it?
Yeah they should have just brought in the other truck, the really small one, that they have for vehicles of this size.
The company probably just has loads of one type of lorry. There’s no point having a smaller one that you reserve for stuff like this when it would probably be sat around at the depot for most of the time.
Should have kept up with the repayments
Recovery driver here:- necessary? No not at all could have sent a bike van or a 3.5 and would have done the job fine too. Available yes definitely, we only send what’s available. The company I work for has bike vans, 3.5s, 12.5s, 18s, and service vans we would send the bike van to this as it makes the most sense however another company may only have a few service vans and the rest are 12.5s so would send a 12.5 to it.
I drive a 12.5 and I’ve had 6 mobility scooters, and 2 wheel chairs all separately thanks to motobility, they do everything by the book even if it seems overkill or pointless
Well it aint gonna fit on the spec lift is it!?
Lancaster is an odd place.
Absolutely yes
I once saw the police seizing an electric scooter and it was tied up in the middle of one of these trucks.
Seemed ott, but I suppose they have a standard vehicle pickup service they use for everything.
Of course. Health and Safety etc.
I have recovered quite a few of these in exactly the same way. You don’t half get some strange looks.
No but it’s hilarious.
Misfit Minds did a prank about the same thing. Very funny it was
I’ve seen a bigger wagon than that recovering a 125cc motorcycle. I guess it depends on what the recovery company has available at the time in that area.
As a ex recovery driver this is a pick up on the way back to the yard job
Saw a thing in the states where a wheelchair user got arrested. The wheel chair got towed like this. Supposedly they couldn’t just pop it into the car and that was the only vehicle they had which could take it away.
Odds are liability is pretty big here too and fine to faff. Easier to just one of those and job done. Instead of risking damage or waiting on something else.
