Saw this on another sub and just thought it’s mad how spread out we are as a society. We only have 1.8m people but very little area without anyone in it.

I’m gonna move three mile up the road to the gummy bear shaped bit of the north where no-one else lives because by fuck am I sick of living near you cunts.
We are over 1.9m now but yes interesting map.
Can’t believe no one lives in that big rectangular area in the middle or that strip down the lower right side.
Anyway, a topographical map will show the reason for the rest of the yellow areas.
I was joking in my first paragraph in case anyone is wondering.
It’s really not, when you consider how the various land acts in Ireland enabled a large percentage of rural inhabitants to own their land. Also people *really* care about who owns the land.

Looking at the [whole island](https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/7v0j6l/places_in_ireland_where_nobody_lives/) you can see the clear differences to GB.
Glad we established that nobody lives in Lough fucking Neagh.
There are only so many more houses we can build before there will be a shortage of farm land.
