a few questions about first months in Germany on low budget

Hi after 10 years not stepping my foot on Germany it seems I might come over for 1 month:)

  1. can i buy a simcard from airport or the cityshops and which cityshops exactly (mid to south germany area)? is it easy and doesnt require proof of address ( i have only national id with me not passport)? can i already buy one (a ''esim'')? online?

  2. I have a steuernummer from over 10 years ago. WOuld that be still valid? Is it normal to search for a job by enquiring in person OUT OF THE BLUE ( cold call)? Are emails appreciated or considered a nuisance (selling emails with cv to companies). I will stay 1 month a volunteer but I dont have reasons to return to my country, in fact I have reasons NOT to return (nothing legal, just how emotional things evovled in my home country situation), so I am happy to start over with job and a room.?

Is xing.de still a thing? I used it 10 years ago and I found 1 job and many interviews:/ Or Linkedin is best now?

Or other website for finding also ''minijobs'?

  1. I am EU member area citizen, does that help anyhow? aside the health cards EHIC for accidents, if i need dentist or psychietrist (I take medicines for bipolar disorder) how much shoud I expect to pay a private doctor to get a prescription ?? then at the pharmacy I pay the entire price I guess ? (In my home country I pay 10%).

To search for a room do i go to wg-gesucht? Is there another one? Last time I used wg-gesucht it was many many years ago and i was a student not a mature adult. I know airbnb but for some reason it has become same price with expensive hotels at least where I live, and the cheapest hostels in airbnb is 20 euro/night 🙁 I am looking for something that will have me pay max 300 euro/month (in hostel bed I mean). I know all cities except Berlin are very expensive on hostels.
