A gaming centre in Londonderry has been covered in red paint and had a window smashed in what police are treating as a hate crime.

Socialist Republicans for Palestine said on social media it was responsible for the attack on Oasis Gaming centre on Shipquay Street shortly before 18:00 BST on Friday.

Police said a fire extinguisher and paint had been thrown at the city centre premises, causing significant damage.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident, which at this time, we are treating as a hate crime,” Sgt Ross of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.
