  1. Went out to see where my kebab delivery was and this guy was just sat there on the porch!

A tad worried about him walking into the road, but I suppose he probably knows best!

  2. Been a while since I saw my first, but I remember thinking they’re faster than I thought they’d be!

  3. Aw he’s only young! Good luck out there, little guy.

I have a straw filled shelter box in my garden (for cats really) and a mum took up residence there this summer with her 3 babies. I felt so proud to give them a safe place and gave them hedgie food and waxworm treats. One of the little ones disappeared one day πŸ™ then mumma moved out to let the kiddos do their own thing, they’ve both moved on as well. Really hoping more move in, I’ve refreshed the straw and set up a second box elsewhere now.

  4. I miss seeing hedgehogs in my garden.

The last time I did see one was around ten or so years ago.

  5. Now wait until you hear them screaming in the middle of the night, waking you up, not knowing what the hell that sound was.

  6. As a hedgehog enthusiast and have hogs of my own that visit my garden, I’m glad you see your hog is out and about this evening in the dark πŸ‘ It’s not usually a good sign to see them out in daylight.
Please put out fresh water and kibble out for them 😊 They’re trying to fatten up for hibernation. Also you’re likely to attract more hogs!

  7. Use to get one that would come every year and have babies in shed so we kept feeding it.. then neighbour put a new fence up and they mustn’t be able to get through now..

Tempted to put a hole in my fence for them

  8. A grown adult I know once asked me about a weird creature he had seen, because I know about these things he said, it was like a hedgehog but had longish legs and a big pointy nose.

One of his friends asked me what the weird vegetable was that I was holding. It was a carrot, straight and orange from my allotment. “I didn’t know they looked like that” he said.

    They walk amongst us.

  9. I’d love to have more in my garden, but my dogs are an issue :’) There’s always a couple appear and I put at least water out for them but we also have a cat that likes to come and sleep in the trees at the bottom…

  10. Used to have them living in our garden at our old house. It was nice seeing them snuffling around in the boarders when we were sitting out of an evening. I was turning over the compost heap one year and four baby hedgehogs rolled out. I put them back, covered them up and left the compost heap alone for months until I knew they were out.

We moved now have a place right next to the countryside. In two years I have seen loads of foxes, hares, rabbits, deer and lots of other wildlife. But never a hedgehog.

  11. i saw a hedgehog crossing the road once and i slowed down to let it cross. now if i call my husband on the way home i’ll say “i’m on the hedgehog road”.

it’s nice to see them alive and happy!

  12. Ah I love hedgehogs πŸ¦”πŸ¦” used to see them all the time in my parents garden

  13. They’re so cute! I currently have 3 roaming around near my garden and we’ve set up a little woodhouse for them and we lay out some mealworms for them every night.

  14. I moved to Lincolnshire and now I have a hedgehog runway in my garden. First time I saw one was when I moved here and now the novelty has faded haha
