John Swinney defends Stephen Flynn over £30,000 donation

>MacAskill, the brother of former Alba MP and justice secretary Kenny MacAskill, made the £30,000 donation to an SNP branch in Flynn’s Aberdeen South constituency on 27 May, ahead of July’s general election.

which is fine, but large sums shouldn’t be done, long time donors giving £5k per month is better than large one off donations

Same issue as with Labour, it doesn’t matter if it’s all been declared and it’s within the rules, its the principle of the matter. It just seems fishy and sleazy, and that’s what matters to the public, and what they’ll think about, not if it was declared properly.
