‘Russia is far from invincible, Ukraine can win this war’ | Leigh Turner

  1. The Crimeans, Japanese, Finnish, Lithavian's, Estonian's, Lithuanian's, Georgian's, Pole's, Spanish, Afghan's, Chechen's… All smaller won in Wars against the Russians and the list goes on!!!

  2. We must see the economic, technological and military โ€œpowerโ€ of Russia in perspective. Russia is indeed a huge country in square km, but only has (a declining) 144 million inhabitants (Mexico 128 million, Japan 123 million, Indonesia 270 million). This is about 30% of USA or Eurozone. The GDP of Russia however is only 4% of the GDP of the Eurozone + USA, this is equal to the GDP of the small countries Belgium + Netherlands + Luxembourg. And less than the GDP of the state of California. Relatively (per capita) the GDP of Russia is very low. Beside that the economy of Russia has signs of a 3th world economy. Half of the income is coming from oil & gas. Based on this, Russia isnโ€™t a world power. And for sure, it isnโ€™t a economic power. This is the reason they canโ€™t build up and maintain a big army. The army they have is far beyond normal proportions in relation to their GDP. This hurts their budgets and prosperity permanently. In this perspective, Russia is a mouse with a huge superiority complex and dangerous megalomaniac dreams. The path the mouse chose will be its downfall.

  3. Ukraine won the days after it stopped the Russian three day special incursion. No matter if it has to cede some land for peace it will still have won.

  4. World bank : Russia rose from middle income to middle-high income country, due to a decent purchase power out there

IMF : Russian gdp growth reach beyond 3,5% in 2024.

Meanwhile Ukraine passed a law not to pay debt interests for two consecutive months

  5. Lavrov has been Interviewed by Newsweek.
The Russians are prepared to make a deal with Ukraine with the following conditions:
    1. That Ukraine will resume it's previous neutral status – absolutely no NATO membership.
    2. That Ukraine recognises that Crimea and the new regions are now Russian and will never return to UKraine.
    3. That Ukraine treats ethnic Russians properly and doesn't persecute them.
    4. That all sanctions on Russia are rescinded.

I still think it's a great deal for Ukraine, UK and Europe but the Neocons don't seem to care about any of those.

  6. Why is russia still a full member of the UN anyway? How can it be that this country is still in a position to support North Korea? I will never understand this.

  7. Based on videos and interviews from the UK and Germany, you talk very much about Putin's possibility of using nukes and seem to be almost scared s***less, which is exactly what Putin wants. Here in Finland we talk very little about nukes. It's pointless. We were "Finlandized" for decades during the Cold War and paid too much attention to Kremlin's ramblings. Those days are over and we don't care what Putin says. He can say whatever he wants, we don't care. We want to help Ukraine win.

  8. Russia will be able to hold this out very long, maybe 10 years. But more likely it will carry on for at least another two years until both sides are very tired.

  9. Some Russia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ supporters donโ€™t know that, Russia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ invaded Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช in 2008, citing NATOโ€™s expansion as the cause. But Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช didnโ€™t join NATO but Russia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ will not give their land back. Just because it has fuel โ›ฝ๏ธand Ukraineโ€™s territories that Russia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ is fighting to take by force has fuel โ›ฝ๏ธ and gas worth trillions of dollars. So itโ€™s not about NATOโ€™s expansion.
