  1. Ukraine is the master of drone warfare, the United States needs to send some of them to the training facilities to show how to use drones in war, and how to protect yourself from drones in that war, NATO also needs to learn the same lesson from Ukraine, if NATO and the United States had to fight, the way the Ukraine has to fight, I don't think they would do as well. With the same restrictions that Ukraine has, our forces would be in a hard way to fight back.

  2. I was on the FDC team in Ar Ramadi, Sep03-04, for the 1st BDE, 1st ID, stationed there. One night, we were processing a counter-fire mission, 8 rnds of 155mm between 2 guns. I forget which round it was when all of a sudden 2 AH-64s flew right over our position at 50ft. We CHECKED FIRE immediately because they were traveling in the same path as our rounds. They saw some flashes in the distance but didn't see ours, or said fuck it, go in for the kill. BDE was furious because they never checked in on station because they would have let the Apaches process the counter attack that night. After the first few counter-fire missions from us in Sep03, the enemy was no longer at their firing point from that time on ward. Tactics change in battlefield. You need to adapt or you will die.

  3. When the Marines ditched their armor a few years ago and activated UAV operations units, they were obviously ahead of the game, not often you can accuse Marines of having crystal balls. I strongly suspect they have been looking over some Ukrainian shoulders and their supply sergeants are getting little sleep. And we already know the Navy and AF have had or working on drones of all types for a while now, it is the Army that has lagged, not realizing or accepting what was possible or a danger, generals are like draft horses and plow a straight line until you slap them on the backside. Has any war ever been the same as the previous one??

  4. You said they used starlink, but the US military has starshield. Unfortunately it is very hard to find information about it. As for starlink not being secure, you encrypt your data before using satellite communications.

  5. Although I’ve never been there, trainers/doctrine type guys from NTC came out and spent a couple of days with my tac team as we trained with LAPD.

It was around 2003 and they were working on revamping their house to house training doctrine. I was very impressed by their personnel. I was always “point”, and a couple of them spent a lot of time with me and the LAPD trainer (also one of their points) asking questions. Although there are obviously some differences between military and civilian law enforcement, they were definitely doing their due diligence – down to going over and copying/recording my footwork and motions. The Army may move slow, but they have some sharp individuals working to improve their forces.

  6. I remember an old tale about NTC. A medic track was stuck about two clicks near Mt. Satan's Buttcheaks and Endangered Turtle Wadi. Comms were down, and vehicle tracks were frozen. It had gotten separated from the trains, and initially, it was thought it was a minor problem. In it were three medics, half a carton of smokes, and Omelete with ham in abundance, with some sand-crusted Charms. The PRC could barely reach the combat trains and it was getting dark. After another 19 hours, they assumed they were forgotten, and they had maybe four gallons of water left, and no Tabasco left for the Omelete with ham, and all Charms were gone, even the ones with sand stuck to them. As you can imagine, they were getting desperate, the Player's and Hustler magazines were horded by the senior Medic, the was no more chewing tobacco, the cigs were packed at the bottom of the duffle bag on top of the track, they started calling out each others wives, and fighting over the last pieces of MRE gum. They were down to three wet-wipes sheets, and they all were suffering from lose diarhea from eating too many Omellete with hams in a row.
The senior medic (re-class from Commo) grabbed some latex gloves and burn pads lined with aluminum foil that were packed them with Vaseline. He inflated the gloves with O2 canisters, wrapped the burn gause around the gloves, and tethered them with 550 cord. The gloves 'kinda' floated above their M1113, with some help from the blistering intermittent desert winds (Lucerifer farts.)
He had hoped the sunlight shining on the metal in the gause would catch the attention of any air assets overhead. Well, those assets did spot the gloves, but not the shine from the foil. Instead, it was the unusual radar signature bouncing off the gloves due to the foil that gave the pilots pause. The medic crew and track were recovered. The aircrew [Dust-Off] that first encountered them was impressed by the medic's ingenuity, and the Warrant said that senior medic deserved a commendation, for origanl thinking (while stifing giggles.)
That highspeed senior medic was feeling the love, until…
He got back to his command and they read his PMCS data, or lack thereof. The he was questioned why the track hadn't been properly serviced for the last week: no track grease, no spare oil drum, the radio battery hadn't been charged properly and they had no spares, the antenna was defective [broken], not to mention he had jerry-rigged his Discman to the track's internal net, every time he tried to reach out to his platoon all they got was "It Must Be Teen Spirit." He hadn't gotten the mission's new call signs and freqs before movement, and there was no VS-17 on the track!
The good news is that their Medical Platoon never thought they were goners, so they assembled a collection, to be given to their wayward comrades upon their return. Everyone chipped in, they tossed in their [now] crushed Oatmeal Bars and Tuna w Noddles, and half-eaten chocolate cookies in an empty and somewhat soiled [track marks] MRE box. On the box, it read, "Welcome back, assholes, we missed hot chow TWICE because of y'all."
God, I miss those days, not so much Tuna and Noodles.

  7. As a JTAC, decon’ing air isn’t tough at all, but the army can’t comprehend a 3D block. Numerous numerous heated discussions trying to explain airspace to a brigade commander. 2 main jobs of a jtac: prevent fratricide, mass fires on the battlefield. The commanders that realize the jtac knows more about friendly positions and also position and altitude of flying assets than his entire staff combined, the smoother the engagements are for his brigade. I need a 30sec heads up on general location and altitude before tossing a small uas and I’ll tell you air is clear. I may even toss ya a bone that ground is clear too cause we know 1st btn is probably thinking they are looking at enemy but it’s really the scout squadron.
But no, the TAIS operator is always some dookie soldier that can’t plug shapes on his screen and can’t comprehend airspace and takes 3hours to plug in a ROZ. Just leave the airspace to the jtac and you’re gravy.

  8. I like how Ukraine are outcome driven. They don't often use a predictable attack approach, often using modified equipment and innovative plans to get the job done. They seem to feed off the Russians and outside observers ruling out what can be attacked or done on the battlefield, then doing exactly that.

  9. So how long until the armed services start adapting automatic or manual net, or more likely bolo, throwing units to bring down fpv drones and the like? Not for use against recon drones they would be vehicle mounted and used to protect against fpv drones by fouling the rotors whilst still at a distance of 10-20m, the ammunition for the systems would be inexpensive to manufacture and as long as your detection systems are good should significantly lower the hazards posed by attack drones to combat vehicles…

  10. SO PAUL HERE'S A ? NOT BEING RUDE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL BUT IVE ASKED 100 ?S BEFORE AND NEVER GET 1 ANSWER FROM YOU SO ILL WASTE MY TIME AND ASK YWT AGAIN 1 MORE HERE GOES…. 11. Good video. Defeating an enemy with supposedly overwhelming capability requires out of the box thinking. I have seen a war game where some yeomen tipped over their desks and thoroughly F' an attacking force of operators. The operators got cocky by wiping the rest of us like nothing in the first round ; but didn't count on 1/2 a dozen secretaries being armed and capable. Your arrogance will kill you if you are lucky, if not, it will kill some other S.O.B. Good luck all facing down evil.

  12. This is good news. My team tried to incorporate drones into a training scenario two years ago that the POGs running the exercise tried to laugh us out of the room. Nice to know that the cookie cutter is cracking a bit.

  13. I dont think the West learned anything i was suspecting then that Kursk is a trap look at it now its a stale mate for Ukrainians but they continue to send whatever men and equipment they have their is a great lost already and it is evident as they dont have any reserve for other areas but they are stubborn. Remember Krinky lots of losses no outcome. The Kursk Bridge lots of losses no result. What ever they apply at this time is futile and they keep losing ground but even you can not acknowledge it. Watch out of Kherson RU had already advanced.
