Hungary decided to block the €35 billion loan to Ukraine until the presidential election in the United States, according to Mihály Varga, Hungary’s Finance Minister. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Hungary has been attempting to obstruct any assistance to Ukraine.

The Soviet invasion of Hungary was in 1956. Orban was born in 1963. He was 28 when the Soviet Union collapsed in 91.
