Well if it was Putin's goal to stop Ukraine joining NATO then he's gravely miscalculated the situation because he sped up Finland and sweden s joining of NATO so even if he can say eventually that he's stopped Ukraine from joining NATO he still has to explain how he caused Sweden and Finland to rush and join NATO , the guys a dictator and maffia boss but the oligarchs around him just be thinking of over throwing him before he totally destroys Russia his gangster reputation is really diminished over the last nearly three years and has made Russia look really weak after his failed special military operation that was supposed to defeat Ukraine within a week and Putin. 11. I'm not saying we don't need a standing army, but not the global ground assault force we(the USA) now are procuring. Because ground assaults are where we incur the most friendly and civilian casualties, the 2 biggest tallies against 'winning' any war.

    A standing army is needed to hold ground, but the attacking should be done prodigiously by air power first, -including(predominately) drones(the more the better -so price is always an issue). The sooner our military comes to this conclusion, the safer we'll all be.

14. Unfortunetly a weak Biden admin is one of the reasons this war has been a struggle for so long. Lots of words and speeches but not enough will to actually win. The issue of long range weapons has been a problem since the start. Imagine all the red lines the west was hesitant to cross but did eventually. The years spent warning Russia about what could come next. If Russia is allowed to get away with this again it will be repeated as usual. Weak western leaders make the world a more dangerous place.

    There is a huge ammo dump measuring at least 5 square miles, with at least 300,000 tons of explosives, every 50 miles.
    The production of consumer goods for citizens is not so much.
    And now especially as Putin has declared the entire country is on a wartime economy.
    Guns, grenades = yes we have lots of them
    Bread, meat, and potatoes = The usual ration cards again.
