This makes Russia sound even more stupid for claiming their conventional army was a match for the West. The West was literally proving them parts.
So they had about 15 with most of them variants and it took many years to get that far, the affected SU57 production looks to be stalled anyway.
This is ridiculous. Yes, sanctions can (and probably are) influence production, but stopping the whole production because a *specific* model of some *attenuator* is unavailable is just… and what happened to the attenuator they used?😅
Anyway, sounds like a bogus story. The production may (or may not) be suspended, but definitely not for that reason alone.
It’s more than simply sanctions.
The big blow to the whole program was India pulling out…. this cut a huge swath of potential orders (the more you build the more affordable the per u it cost).
Even pre-war the program was in trouble because of it.
Add to that having to stretch components replacing attrition over Ukraine of already proven platforms (Su-30, 35 etc), it’s a hard sell moving forward with an already troubled program.

Throw some washer and dryer chips into them
The fact that they don’t work and cost too much for something that’s no better than their traditional Gen 4 fighters should also have something to do with it, too.
Whatever their excuse, this is good news for everyone.
Now let’s get into some wrong answers:
* They ran out of wood screws * They accidentally conscripted the only guy who knew the password to the PC with the plans on it * They need the Su-57 parts to make Armatas
We’ll read more and more news like this in the coming months, it’s more and more symptoms of an upcoming collapse.
I know a pager company that can probably produce the parts they need.
