Isn’t there a historic connection between Nz and Samoa?
At least when it comes to contracts, I heard the colonial past and the Pandemic they faced due to that is understandably a difficult subject for some.
Worked a year in Katikati and I felt there were many samoan people working there for the harvesting season that spoke very fondly of NZ and fair longtime working possibilities. (There were also some that got ripped off by growers)
I hope there will be a thorough investigation into how this could happen, what damage was caused to the ecosystem and how NZ can step in to diminish any negative longterm effects!
