  1. Josephine was 16, Oscar was 24.

He may have had a child with a mistress before his marriage. He certainly had two children with someone other than his wife after they were married.

Josephine and Oscar had five children, two of whom became kings of Sweden. Their children were musical and artistic. Their son Gustaf wrote two songs that are common in Swedish choir repertoire today (Studentsången and Vårsång (Glad så som fågeln)). Their daughter Eugenie was an artist, her drawings and paintings give us an important insight into court life during the period.
