   Looks really clear here from upminster. Visible with the naked eye but even more vibrant with a night mode photo

   Never thought I’d see the northern lights in Kentish Town. Amazing

5. I went all the way to Northern Scotland to see this last week. Instead I find it here in my backyard.

    I saw a post earlier asking if it was more frequent so I looked on the guardian and an aurora map.

    Taken with an iPhone, you can’t really see them without using a smartphone or tablet camera, because the light sensor is much more sensitive.
