Big oil was so sure of this destruction that they have worked for decades to set up a Supreme Court that will forever forgive them for their knowing, malicious and highly profitable crimes.
And wedged in between 1982 and 1988, but not included in the submitted link, was this:

He wasn’t the first scientist to warn us, because those warnings went back to the 1950s (and earlier, though not as widely disseminated). But he *was* the most respected science communicator of his generation (most respected ever, IMO).
We could have listened. We didn’t.
Arrest those nasty storms. Put them away for life. How can we allow those climate extremes destroy our future? Imprison them immediately. Do not pass GO. Get to prison straight away.
