Impressive. The complete opposite of where I live. My home county of Norfolk is as flat as a pancake.
I rewatch the scene from Skyfall as they’re driving through the Scottish fells. What a gorgeous scene that is!
I’m fortunate enough to have worked throughout the Highlands over the past few years and even now, I have to stop and take it all in.
Loch ba on the a82?
My sister lives less about 10 minutes drive from the eastern shore of Loch Lomond and I envy her.
I used to drive all the way up the A9 regularly and it was beautiful
The Highlands are absolutely breathtaking nothing compares to the stunning landscapes and peaceful beauty of the area!
Northwest Scotland from Glencoe to Durness is the most incredible landscape in the UK and it’s not even close.
Not a bad wee place
I got family up in Dornoch begging me to go up there again, might see what they’re doing for Christmas, beats Coventry any day.
I used to holiday there twice a year, every year until my daughter was born 8 years ago. Usually stayed in Fort Augustus as a base and then toured all of the highlands. It’s a stunning place, and my favourite place in the Uk. Plockton is my favourite village (where the BBC filmed Hamish McBeth)
It’s alright
It’s beautiful. Until the midges arrive.
Head over to Skye if you want to see mountains, or drive up to Ullapool and explore north
I’ve been lucky to have been able to travel to many places but very few can compare to the natural beauty of Scotland.
Scottish Highlands are world class. I love Snowdonia and the Lake District, but the landscapes from Loch Lomond northwards are in another league.
If you ever can, get over to the west coast of Ireland, the scenery is pretty similar, and seems endless. I lived over there for 6-7 years and still miss it a lot.
I encourage you to go to the Welsh Highlands too.
It’s no joke, is it? I was up in in Ardnamurchan, a few months ago. Stunning.
