  1. Along with adjusting for inflation, it’d be nice to adjust for purchasing power parity, like we do with GDP

  2. Even in an active war, Russian expenditures are nowhere close to Soviet expenditures. I would have expected them to be closer.

  3. It’s for DEFENSE, not ATTACK. US friendly, not hostile, because democracy. Military bases and navies all around the globe to help PROTECT, not to defend private interests or interfere with foreign domestic policies.

    I wonder if Americans realize the world sees them as cowboys armed to the teeth
