Macron calls to halt weapons deliveries to Israel, but who is listening? • FRANCE 24 English

French President Emmanuel Macron’s call to halt deliveries to Israel of weapons for use in Gaza was “specifically a broad call for an international arms embargo”, said FRANCE 24’s International Affairs Editor Douglas Herbert.

But is it likely to be effective? Macron’s message “is a stark contrast to what we hear and see from the US policy, but it is likely to sway in any way shape or form Israel’s behaviour? … most likely not,” Herbert said.

I thank god refusing arms to a literal war criminal 40k civilians dead excluding buildings falling down 2 million starving that’s the complete opposite of what you should do with an armed insurgency that’s how you fuel an insurgency not defeat it this has been going on since 1948 with a couple massacres here and there and people are content with this I wasn’t expecting much from humanity but this is not how civil democracy acts unless you wanna be like America imperialistic. Emmanuel Macron's decision is very good, rather than spending French people's tax money on Israel, it is better to help the French people themselves.Don't be like Canada and the United Kingdom, the people have become very poor, almost becoming a third world country because of helping Israel, spending people's tax money.

  16. Does macron’s words matter at this point? Like I remember him trying to be the “Savior” of EU by being independent from the US and to ukraine by personally talking to Putin. But guess what, was ignored. This guy thinks a superhero complex but in reality, he is just a clown. His words means nothing really.

  26. President Macron is the one who tried to fix the Lebanese government after the deadly Beirut blast. What happened to that? Lebanon is still being controlled by Hezbollah. Whose side is he really in?
