Nice work! You did a great job putting all those statistics together and made a chart with colors that I can actually tell apart! Excellent!
At a quick glance, it seems Letterbox’d and Ranker might be most aligned with my taste. Thanks!

I can’t be the only one who isn’t crazy about mafia movies.
Popularity and critical acclaim is not synonymous with greatness – as a data nerd and a film nerd it’s important to explicitly state, critical reception has very little to do with the merits of greatness in most art forms.
What we’re seeing here is a mix of frequently talked about, critically valued films, culturally preferred narratives, traditional acclaim measured by people who use these platforms.
The fact that Francis Ford Coppola is represented multiple times and ~30 are Italian American Gangster themed movies should make that pretty clear.
It’s like ranking the greatest legal advice by most mentions in tabloid magazines and websites.
Cool effort, but would be interesting if there some actual data science methodology to establish metrics relevant to film that wasn’t massively weighted in favor of advertising dollars and cultural self-selection bias.
I have only ever seen one of these.
