£4.5bn on a tunnel, it’s taking the piss.
Would be great if we could clean up the streets of crime first.
luv tunnels
It’s basically Crossrail but for turds!
You may now poo it peace. Amen 🙏
It obviously allows us to divert sewage into the tunnel and prevent dumping, does the project also include a mechanism for extracting waste from the river?
So if we’ve been paying for it through our bills, our bills will reduce again now, right? Right??
Much needed, particularly with recent building meaning flood water goes in to rivers more easily.
> Alan Lovell, Environment Agency chairman, said: “We are proud to have worked collaboratively with partners on the Tideway project reducing storm sewage spills into the tidal Thames by around 95%.
Would be amazing to improve the quality of the Thames water.
“Thames water with then operate the system” – Uhhhh just what we need :/
🏊 💩 🏊 💩
I’m happy for less poo in the river but it’s bugging me the article says “metres squared”, is it not “cubic metres”, or even just use litres!
I feel like “turning on the valves” is the sort of thing that should have a social media video / live webcam in the year 2024
