SpaceX rocket booster makes successful landing after test launch – using ‘chopsticks’

The launch of the fifth test flight from Elon Musk’s Space X Starship rocket has been a success.

It took off in Boca Chica, Texas and was the first attempt to bring the rocket’s Super Heavy booster back to the launch tower. After a slightly wobbly descent, the booster was successfully grabbed and clamped by the tower’s “chopsticks”.

Starship and Super Heavy are designed to carry crew and cargo to the moon and beyond – and be reusable.

  1. Great achievement, but my concern iis the fumes and how they negatively affect our atmosphere and nature in general. At what cost? Its time we took care of our environment

  2. Amazing only Elon could come up with enough superbly intelligent people to develop this marvelous machine. He's not afraid to work with highly intelligent people.

  3. "Successful"? IT BLEW UP. It exploded. It's in bits. Millions of dollars down the drain – AGAIN. THIS IS NOT MUSK'S MONEY!
How many Apollo rockets did NASA "deliberately" blow up before going to the moon?
This is a decadent, stupid, money gobbling scam. SHAME ON AMERICA for this pointless waste.

  4. Some of skeptics on FB easily said the posted video there was just a reversely played video when they all see was a clip of that booster reignited on its descent to slow down on its way to a catch-arm. I pity them of course.
