Does anyone know if Siemens were able to work out their proposal for an air-conditioning system on these where onboard tanks of polymer would be cooled below freezing point when the train was running on surface sections of the network and then on underground sections heat transfer would melt the polymer again? That struck me as an ingenious way to solve the heating issue in the tube system but it was announced years ago and I’ve no idea if it was just an idea or actually something workable.
