  1. A new survey from MarketWatch Guides finds couples in a DINK relationship (“Dual Income No Kids”) are four times more likely than parents to say they have no financial stress. What’s more, they accumulate money at a faster rate. DINKs report saving twice as much as parents each month ($908 instead of $413).

According to the America’s Families and Living Arrangements data published by the US Census Bureau in November 2023, childless couples make up almost half of all coupled households, up around 7% since 2012. The trend suggests that, with mounting economic pressure, more people choose to remain childless for financial reasons.

  2. Shocking?

Bet we learn they sleep better at night too in time for the nobels

  3. You either want kids or you don’t, and if you do they come with a financial responsibility. Loved being DINKS until we started our family and absolutely ZERO regrets – couldn’t imagine life without the kiddos!!!

  4. Riveting. Next you’ll tell me that they travel abroad in term time too.

  5. I can’t believe someone was paid to write this article.

  6. This just in; tall people have better views at concerts.

  7. I can tell you right now my kid has zero pressure to have kids.

We don’t pay people enough to raise kids. I still have to bail my kid out periodically for stuff like medical bills or a car repair. And they’re rocking a STEM degree with no debt from college.

*If* my kid ever has kids they’ll be in their mid to late 30s or early 40s when they do. After they’ve got a masters degree *at least* and a spouse with the same.

I wouldn’t want to raise kids in America on less than $250k/yr. Frankly with how we screw people over probably $350k/yr.

  8. People with more money worry less about money? Thanks for the survey.

  9. You mean to tell me double income with less expenses makes your wealthier? Whoa

  10. These couples also have more sex than married peers, it’s nice.

  11. I bet they also have lower stress levels and more free time too!

  12. I’m shocked! Are you telling me that if you are wholly financially responsible for the life and well being of another human being and maybe even more. you may feel a tad more stressed? They better investigate this further.

  13. The sky is blue and water is wet. Still wouldn’t choose it over my kids.
