  1. I used to grow vegetation of this magnitude with my father as a boy, he was an avid gardener and would grow everything from carrots to parsley, courgettes (of size similar to this) to winklespouts. Believe it or not, he grew jackfruits, Mangosteen and rippleroots in a greenhouse every summer. Once I moved out and began working; I didn’t have time for gardening, the hobby slipped out of my life.

My relationship was always strong with my old man (although we did have our ups and downs) and when he was in ill health shortly before his passing in 1994, I visited him in hospital.

His last words to me were “Michael, I can’t help but feel that all of those summers in the garden together really helped to make us the father and son that we are… I want you to start a vegetable garden with little Taylor and do with him what I did with you.”
