Tom Tugendhat knocked out of Tory leadership race

The chair of the 1922 Committee of backbench Conservatives, Bob Blackman, has announced the latest results of the Tory leadership race, with Tom Tugendhat out of the running after winning only 20 votes.

James Cleverly came out on top with 39 votes, followed by Robert Jenrick with 31 and Kemi Badenoch with 30. The three remaining candidates will face off in the fourth and final round of MP voting before the final two are put to a ballot of Tory members

  1. Tugendhat was genuinely the last hope for a decent, sane Conservative party. They’re going to keep doing the Liz Truss/Rishi Sunak mistake. I guarantee whoever is left will not stay as leader for 5 years.

  2. We all know who’s going to win and it’s James another tie the line migrant supporting European court supporter loser, another very rich boy who’s never getting to number 10

  3. No surprise that the only one who stood up for military personnel, current and previous is the first one to be voted out by those who have insisted on keeping veterans on the streets of UK nations with no help or housing.
