Latvian President on Ukraine: “There is no time and place for fatigue” | DW Interview

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics has told DW Israel should stop attacks against UN peacekeepers in Lebanon. He said: “While we are not denying the self-defense rights of Israel within the international law, specifically international humanitarian law, Latvia strongly believes that Israel should refrain from attacking the United Nations forces, the United Nations peacekeepers or observers.”
On Ukraine, Rinkevics said the West needed to mobilize more support for Kyiv: “this kind of situation we are in will be resolved only if the Western countries, those countries that are supporting international law and Ukraine in particular, will somehow mobilize more support. So there is no time and place for fatigue.”

  1. The office people who run governments have a lot of meetings and dinners. There's a war going on but the meetings and dinners are essential to defeat Russia 😅

  2. End support for both sides, let them duke it out like they both want to. Clearly neither of them care when supporting countries “call for ceasefire”, so let them earn what they deserve without our attention. Waste of time and resources.

  3. Western world failed . West be like – high moral standards, honestly, human rights…. In reality – blah blah blah , oh thatis Ukraine it is not democracy why we must help ? 😂😂😂😂 Double faced liars . Baltic states like Latvia Lithuania and Estonia is in deep 7hit with article five and all that imaginary thing 😂😂😂😂 btw half of germany belongs to ussr ❤❤❤❤ north korean army already in Ukraine

  4. Nutanyahu has gone Rogue and only reason for that is the US elections. He knows Kamala or Biden cant do jack for votes. Lets see how Rogue he will be after Nov. 5th if Kamala wins. As for EU they are just puppets nothing else, bla bla bla.

  5. We should ask Latvia, Estonia & Lithuania why they consider Russia as a threat to peace & stability in the EU. The Ivans are just so slow on perception.

  6. It's funny how no one in the UN talks about so-called "peacekeepers" failed at their mission, allowing Hezbollah to shoot over 9,000 rockets into Israel, which was the whole purpose of the peacekeeping force in Lebanon. The fact that that terrorist infrastructure is within 100 m of the peacekeeping facilities, which is what was bombed and that's how peacekeepers got hurt. The UN makes it sound like Israel is specifically bombing peacekeeping forces…

  7. 8:57 «It was not directed to Latvia» – how do you know? Did you know it would crash when it entered Latvia’s airspace? If it was directed, you still wouldn’t shoot it down, and this is your personal major issue.

  8. How can a system that has never worked, be failing?

When have the U.N. or The World Court ever done anything but bully 3rd world countries?

Global Superpowers have always completely ignored and thumbed their noses at the U.N. and World Court when these two entities didn't suit their neo-colonial purposes!

However, the total madness of our planet is that, The U.N. and The World Court will eventually gain the power to check the global superpowers and then we'll have a whole new set of problems to deal with when some madman gains control of them.

  9. We cannot let Putin win. If Trump takes the USA support away from Ukraine we must ensure a) that we do not trust USA again and b) for the sake of Europe, defeat Putin. When USA asks us for support on something else we should then take a more ambivalent position.

  10. Is a summary of UN peacekeepers' objectives and recent (a few years) achievements in Lebanon available anywhere ?

Are any UN peacekeepers currently stationed in Ukraine ?
