  1. I can see how it can happen, it nearly happened to me. A few years ago I was a live in carer in UK. The carer who took over from me arrived that day from a european country to take over the shift. We all hopped in the car and she drove me to the train station to get my flight home to Ireland. We left the house and within a few minutes arrived at a roundabout, she immediately moved to the right lane to turn right onto the roundabout rather than left to circle the roundabout then exit…I shouted out very loudly…left! left! I was so relieved to get out of the car as she was driving far too fast and close to other vehicles. It could have ended up in fatalities.

  2. There are far too many unnecessary accidents happening now on the roads, it's about time people switch on and have a bit of consideration for their fellow road users

  3. Anybody with underlying health conditions or heart complications or on medication should not be permitted to drive motor vehicles until said issues are resolved. Those motorists are ticking time bombs. I have witnessed two serious incidents in my life where such drivers suffered heart attacks before becoming involved in head on collisions with one dying at the side of the road. Similarly the amount of elderly you see driving around is equally as reckless a decision of the Gov and DVLA and these people should not be on the roads irrespective of passing vision tests. Put them in to mobility schemes or public transport. Any new drivers caught driving irresponsibly and racking up points from the get go have their license revoked. They are responsible for too many accidents and incidents and statistics back this up. Everything in the UK is too soft and has an a perception of leniency when it comes to prosecution as we know; but the roads are within our Government’s immediate ability to make safe today and they need to reform the legislation asap. I appreciate this comment is not necessarily on point with the cause of the driver going the wrong way but I would hazard a guess they were under the influence or foreign nationals who forgot what side of the road they were on when exiting the roundabout on to a motorway.

  4. So sorry for the families in volved. Driver could be alive cuz prison time for a huge crime but suffering caused would be happy time not fearing a new day in Nick where life is hell and food is terrible no visits no day release for poor mother that dropped him on his head. Get me?
Dont pray but I did quite mod to myself for you the not victims but the family which can never have that group photo again cuz another human gave himself no rules for the day
    Sorry for your loss

  5. i was once working down Devon with bunch of guys all done a 13 hour shift when making our way home up the M5 back to Somerset our driver took the wrong exit of the round about straight on the the on coming slip lane😅 managed to warn the guy as he quickly reversed backup, also this was 2am so very quiet but still dangerous never the less

  6. Out on a bike a few weeks back – I came across a chap midway through a 3 point turn on a dual carriageway. The road swept to the right with trees in the central reservation that limited visibility..

Luckily he was in the reversing phase, backing towards the hard shoulder, so I was able to avoid killing us both…

I feel so sorry for the family killed. This is happening too often and I suspect it’s people who haven’t grown up and learned to drive here..
