Lebanon: Residents fear all-out war • FRANCE 24 English

Residents in Lebanon’s capital Beirut expressed concern over their personal electronic devices, after a wave of attacks involving exploding pagers and walkie-talkies. “The fear of war has become an increasing obsession for all Lebanese. We feel that the risk of war is growing day by day and that it is very near.” said also a Lebanese in the southern city of Sidon, as tensions rise between Israel and Hezbollah.

  1. Why does your reporting frame it as tho these devices were carried by random innocent people? These are pagers and walky-talkies, used by Hezbollah, a terrorist organization.

  2. "I don't remember one occupation in which the occupier presented himself as the victim, we are the victims, we are forced to kill their children, poor us.” ~ Israeli journalist Gideon Levy

  3. "If they do it it's terrorism, if we do it it's counter-terrorism."

"The only consistent definition of terrorism troughout the entire human history is – their terror against us"

    —Noam Chomsky

  4. "And the nerves of the old hunter are still strong – he blew my whole brain out," Trump said, looking at his wax portrait. – No, Trump. This time Bill Burns missed – all his previous victims were wounded in the groin.

  5. Lebanon is a peaceful country , they don't have an army , they only have a small police force , so Lebanon is a peaceful country and they don't have an army and this is based on common knowledge , they only have a small police force so the idea that a small peaceful country like Lebanon poses a threat is just utter non-sense and total fiction

Lebanon is a liberal democratic nation and its a demilitarized country and a small peaceful country

Iran will not give up its right to peaceful nuclear technology , so with that being said , any deal that is based on Iran's inherent right to peaceful nuclear energy and any deal that helps in solving the outstanding issues and tensions is probably a good deal and any steps taken by Iran designed to escalate the situation is just unacceptable

Iran is a peaceful country , the Government , the people of Iran are a great people , the people of Iran have elected a new leader in recent elections and their new leader has promised improved relations with the outside world , so again Iran is a great country and they can join the G20 if they are willing to implement reforms , this is why the best way to solve the crisis is through diplomacy

Iran and its allies should continue peace talks with the outside world based on mutual respect and based on previously agreed agreements like the JCPOA , the outside world should also stake steps to remove the sanctions and restrictions imposed on the Government of Iran

The JCPOA signed between the Government of Iran and the other 5 signers was a good deal , it removed the sanctions so that should be the main focus of the new elected government that has promised reforms

Again I don't support either side , I don't support any one side but all sides need to agree to a cease-fire and a viable roadmap for peace

Again I am not taking sides here , I don't support either side , I'm not taking sides , I'm not trying to support one side over the other , all sides need to work on a viable roadmap that brings peace based on mutual respect , I don't support Iran or its government
