North Korea sends troops to fight with Russia in Ukraine, Seoul says | BBC News

North Korea has started sending troops to fight with Russia in Ukraine, South Korea’s spy agency has said as Seoul warned of a “grave security threat”.

The allegation comes a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he believed 10,000 North Korean soldiers could join the war, based on intelligence information.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol called for a security meeting on Friday and said the international community must respond with “all available means”.

According to the spy agency, 1,500 troops have already arrived in Russia – with anonymous sources telling South Korean media the final figure could be closer to 12,000.

  3. It would seem that WW3 is pretty much in affect!? I could be wrong and i hope i am.Was it not the case that WW2 was not acknowledged as such until a few years in? Im no expert but it seems the battle of ideologies is up and running. โœŒ๏ธ

  8. What's the problem here ???????? North Korea has a cold war with the USA and South Korea and a partnership with Russia and China, since when do you dictate your enemies alliances and relationships ?

Ive got a gut feeling that kim might soon see ruined cities all over NK as he is one of them asking for unnecessary world conflict for much too long.Hope that the UN AND THE WHO getting their budget ready for all those innocent citizens as that seems to be their specialty,to take care of those who started unnecessary wars first.

    What we'll hear next is: Since North Korean troops are in Ukraine, we can now send troops and it won't be regarded as escalation.
    Ukraine desperately needs the west to send troops to fight the Russians. Thank God western leaders despite their rhetorics know suicide when they see one.

    Russia does not need North Korean soldiers. They're now advancing rapidly. Ukraine is being crushed. Ukraine needs to surrender now. Its surrender terms will get harder as the war drags on.
