Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh Visit Malta to Mark Special Anniversary
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have arrived in Malta to mark the country’s 60th anniversary of independence.
Edward and Sophie met the President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono and her husband
Dr. Anthony Spiteri Debono at Grandmaster’s Palace in St George’s Square, Valletta.

My favourite royal couple Edward and Sophie, although if I'm honest it does veer between these two and Charles and Camilla. Hard to choose which couple edges out the other. All four are absolutely wonderful.

This shows how pathetic Andrew Holness is. This little island gained its independence 60 years ago. Then there is Jamaica who two years ago Andrew Holness made a fool out of himself by declaring they were going to be independent and has done nothing else since.

My uncle, Lieutenant Lyndon Walford, was killed on 1st April, 1942 in Valetta Harbour, where his submarine, HMS Pandora, was unloading precious goods for the folk of Malta. I am so pleased that there is a memorial to those who lost their lives. I have visited the National Arboretum to pay my respects, but am too old to do the same in Malta.
