Is Israel trying to create civil strife in Lebanon? | Inside Story

Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 2,400 people since October 7, most of them in the past month.
They have mostly targeted Hezbollah’s leadership and fighters, but in recent days, some government buildings have come under attack.
Christian towns further north, where fighters had reportedly taken shelter, have also been hit.
Analysts say these attacks are intended to disrupt Lebanon’s fragile power-sharing system, which is drawn along religious lines.
Is Israel trying to isolate Shia Hezbollah supporters by inflaming sectarian tension?

  2. Israel is launching targeted attacks while hezbollah is bombarding at israel with ballistic missiles that most of them were failed. When israel attacks and cause killings aljazeera called it genocide. When hezbolla failed with their bombardment they want it to be proportionate.

  12. All the speakers are missing the one vital issue and that is Hezbollah and it's holding Lebanon to ransom!!! Lebanon is not an independent sovereign state as such!!! Why isn't the Lebanese military intervening in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah??

  28. Someone has to fight back. Israel is using hez as an excuse to go into Lebanon, just as they used hostages as an excuse to go into Gaza. Israel would do ir anyway, thats the point. First Palestine, today Lebanon, tomorrow Syria, Cyrus, Turkiye….wake up. We are all in this.

    Mandela is hailed worldwide as a hero today.

  30. The lady seems to be making sense but the platform isn't ready because the agenda is to blame Israel without castigating Hezbollah that attacked after Hamas October 7th.
