France announces plan for 10 GW offshore wind

Five offshore wind projects are set to add up to 10 GW of capacity to France’s grid by 2035. The French government plans to launch the AO10 tender early next year, resulting in two 2 GW fixed-bottom wind farms north of Le Havre in the English Channel, along with an additional 5.2 GW of floating wind capacity from two projects in the Atlantic Ocean and one along the Mediterranean coast, according to an announcement from the French Ministry of Energy on Friday.
