Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the declined 0.67% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:), which rose 1.33% or 0.22 points to trade at 16.77 at the close. Semapa (ELI:) added 0.94% or 0.14 points to end at 14.96 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:) was unchanged 0.11% or 0.00 points to 0.93 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (ELI:), which lost 2.75% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.06 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 2.32% or 0.06 points to end at 2.53 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) shed 2.22% or 0.31 points to 13.64.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.52% or 1.11 to $74.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.86% or 1.28 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 5.50 to trade at $2,735.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 103.75.
